12月9日 Course 125 - 1 Year Anniversary1 year had passed since course 125 first came together. 1st december 2006 was the official date that we were employed under our current company. The past yr had saw the course going thru 21 days worth of OBS in Lumut, 6 months of ABSOLUTE BRAIN CRACKING ATPL and now, all 20 of us, here in Jandakot Airport, doing our flight training.
The course headed down to Fremantle for Fish and Chips dinner, followed by a hearty beer session at Little Creatures. OKI enough of me typing...let's just look at the pics.

Signing out~ Phase 1 Check Flight - Sortie 130Our flight training here in Jandakot before we will be given our CPL (IR) license consist of 4 phases. After each phase, there will be a progress check flight to ensure that we are up to the standards that the college expect of us.
After waiting for 13 days, i finally got my P1 check flight! The last time i last flown a circuit sortie was 13 days back. So i was feeling kinda stressed up over whether i will be able to pass my P1 check on my first attempt.
The flight took off 111400hrs LMT. Duration of the flight was set for 1 and half hrs; which is broken into 1hr worth of GH and 30mins worth of circuit. Basically, the check flight will require cadets to perform all the flying stuff that we have learned from the past 29 sorties.
The flight started off oki...a few hiccups when i did my steep turns and stalling. PFL planning wasn't the smoothest that i have done as i made the wrong call with regards to my landing direction. Luckily i was able to fix up the error when at 1500ft. When i rejoin back to the aerodrome for circuits, the traffic was HORRIBLE! I was following another aircraft that was flying a circuit pattern of his own! extremely wide and i had a hard time trying to maintain separation from him.
I guess luck was on my side. Despite having a few hiccups here and there, the Senior Instructor that took off with me gave me a full pass for my Pcheck. Lucky...extremely lucky!
I passed......
*Guess wat, the aircraft tail no that i flew today was VH-LTK! The same aircraft i used when i cleared my first solo flight!
Signing out~ Sortie 133 and 136 - Basic Instrument FlyingIn order for us to be given a total of 15 solo hrs between each dual flight, we need to clock at least 1hr worth of flying time under IF condition. That is to say, instead of having visual references thru the cockpit windscreen, we are suppose to fly the aircraft using only cockpit instruments. Phase 2; Sortie 133 and 136 are catered into our training plan for this sole reason. Extensive instrument flying will be done during Phase 3 of our training.
Sortie 133
I did my sortie 133 on 1st december. This is my first instrument flight with my instructor. Overall was smooth and the flight was perform pretty much up to standard. Got a bit disorientated due to leans half an hr into the flight. But all went off oki...managed to clear the sortie.
Sortie 136
Sortie 136 was flown on 06th december. The main difference between this sortie and sortie 133 is that i need to fly the aircraft under vacuum pump failure conditions. That is to say, i lost both my artificial horizon and DGI in the cockpit. They were covered up by my instructor and i could no longer draw any reference from either of them. Bad...horrible..it's not a condition you will want to get yourself into if you are flying a plane. Losing both the DGI and AH made simple task like flying straight and level doubly hard, and not to say...i am expected to recover from unusual attitude that my instructor pulled on me. Extremely challenging i must say...
The stupid thing that i did is that i didn't take my lunch before the flight. Half way during the flight, due to the G-forces that my instructor pulled on me for UA, i just felt like vomitting. Horrible...
Overall, i managed to clear the sortie...it sure was an experience.
